AEB Pastoral Workshops

From August 19th to August 22nd, 2025, the Association of Evangelicals in Burundi convened four pastoral workshops across the provinces of Gitega, Muyinga, Ngozi, and Kayanza, to strengthen pastoral leadership, promote unity among churches,. These gatherings brought together over 2,000 pastors from diverse church denominations.
Advocate John Langlois, emeritus member of the International Council of the World Evangelical Alliance, was the guest speaker for all four sessions. He brought rich insights to all four sessions. Focusing on the theme “How the Church in Burundi Can Bring about Revival and How Ministers Can Avoid the Traps That Hinder It,” Langlois reflected on the history of revival movements in East Africa and their significant impact on communities and the church. He highlighted how, over time, some servants of God lost sight of their mission, which led to the fading of revival and diminished spiritual influence. Drawing lessons from these experiences, Langlois provided practical guidance on how pastors and church leaders in Burundi could stay faithful to their calling, maintain spiritual vigilance, and implement strategies that foster genuine revival while avoiding the common pitfalls that hinder spiritual growth and community transformation.
In addition, each pastor received a copy of Adv. Langlois’ book, designed to serve as a lasting reference and guide for effective ministry.
Recognizing the daily challenges faced by pastors, AEB also handed out solar lamps to all participants. These lamps serve a dual purpose: they allow pastors to prepare sermons and study Scripture after dark, while also providing their families—particularly their children—with the ability to pursue academic work in the evenings, especially in rural areas where many villages remain without electricity.
Pastor Peter expressed deep appreciation for the support received through the conference.
He shared:
“I want to extend my thankful heart to AEB. I can now continue my Bible studies and prepare sermons even in the darkness. The solar lamp has become an essential tool, ensuring that knowledge, vision, and spiritual direction are not interrupted by the absence of electricity.”
