Re-Forma–AEB Partnership Strengthens Church Leadership in Burundi
In collaboration with Re-Forma.global, the Association of Evangelicals in Burundi (AEB) held a leadership training program for pastors and church leaders from different denominations across the country.
Re‑Forma is a global initiative dedicated to equipping pastors, church leaders, and ministry workers with high-quality, biblically grounded training. Recognizing that many church leaders around the world lack formal theological education, Re‑Forma provides a standardized system of training, assessment, and certification to ensure that ministry leaders are well-prepared to serve their communities faithfully and effectively.
It is in this regard that Re‑Forma started partnering with the Association of Evangelicals in Burundi (AEB) to reach dozens of pastors serving God in Burundi, especially considering that many lack formal theological education.
126 pastors have successfully completed the Re-Forma curriculum based on 37 core ministry outcomes, and the graduation ceremony took place on July 19, 2025.
During the celebration day, Re-Forma was represented by Paul Hemming, Re-Forma’s Africa Director, and Bishop Esron Maniragaba, General Secretary of the Rwanda Evangelical Alliance and National Coordinator of Re-Forma in Rwanda.
The graduation ceremony was officiated by Mr. Désiré Nitunga, General Director at the Ministry of Interior, Public Security, and Community Development, representing the Minister.
In his remarks, Evangelist Edmund Gakiza, AEB General Secretary and host of the event, expressed deep gratitude to Re-Forma leadership for their continuous support in strengthening the Church in Burundi through this strategic partnership.
