On 11-12 September 2026, AEB Burundi organized a two-day Conference in Gitega, bringing together political party leaders, representatives of different associations, and leaders of churches and religious communities. 

The Conference focused on promoting peaceful presidential elections in Burundi in 2027 .

 Speakers included Francois BIZIMANA, Hon. Leonce NGENDAKUMANA, and Bishop Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA and all participants emphasized the importance of dialogue, unity, equality, and security before, during and after the elections. They also shared recommendations on how all stakeholders can contribute to peaceful and inclusive elections.
